The Voice and the relocated NCIS leader on Monday, the big leap stumbles

In the first batch of Premiere Week 2021 TV audiences, CBS ‘ NCIS led the night in total viewership, with its big shift to Monday, while NBC The voice dominated in the demo.

In the adjusted national ratings, NCIS opened Season 19 with 8.5 million total viewers and a demo rating of 0.7 (and a TVLine “A-” player rating), easily delivering Monday’s biggest audience and down a notch up from last season’s averages. Coming out of there NCIS: Hawaii debuted with the third-highest audience of the night (6.6 million) and a rating of 0.5 – the highest retention of any Monday newbie. (Read the recap.)

CBS’s opening night was The neighborhood (5.3 mil / 0.6, reading grade “B +”) and Bob Hearts Abishola (5.4 mil / 0.5, reader rating “A”).

NBC The voice the season premiere (7.2 mil / 1.1, read recap) was tied with its fall 2020 averages and led in the demo on Monday. Coming out of there Ordinary joe retained 3.9 mil and a 0.5 (read the summary).

Somewhere else:

FOX | 9-1-1 came back to 5.1 mi / 0.8 (drive rating “A-“). It was followed by the premiere of The big jump (1.5 mil / 0.3), the first two episodes of which streamed early.

ABC | Dancing with the stars’ the season opener (5.5 mil / 0.9, read recap) placed second in the demo, while a Time 100 special made 1.8 mil / 0.3.

THE CW | Roswell NM (470K / 0.1) dropped a few eyeballs while remaining stable in the de, o.

In surveys of TVLine readers, The big jump averaged a “B +” rating, with 86% planning to stay tuned… Ordinary joe on average a “B” / 84% … and NCIS: Hawaii on average a “C-” / 56%.
