John called her "perfect" for the series and I could not have accepted more.
Jake Haldenvang (Team Gwen), "I'd like to know you" – Grade: C + | Surprisingly, this 24-year-old AC / DC fan told us before his performance that he had made the money to buy his first guitar by opening a lemonade stand as a child. Later, playing in a band with his father, he developed his stage presence and became what he called "a wild child" in the spotlight. For me, however, he was kind of a sweet child. (WILKES, that was not the case.) Good singer – his voice went from a nice grater to a sweet falsetto, Kelly thought it came from a woman – but I got the impression that he was restraining himself. Maybe it was just the nerves that Gwen had the impression of fighting. Jake really has potential; I'm just wondering if his coach can convince him to be up to it.
Brennan Lassiter (Team Kelly), "You Are My Sunshine" – Grade: A | Well, da-amn! If this little girl from South Carolina had hit – and, even more impressively, held – notes larger than those she had had, her hearing should have been moved to the parking lot. They were this Solid! What's more, the 20-year-old girl seems to have effortlessly inserted into her cover the old man's Morgane and Chris Stapleton's version, the occasional growl, suggesting that we only touched what was in her backpack. malice. Rose Short (Team Gwen), "Preach" – Rating: A | I was predisposed to worship this former 34-year-old prison officer even before she sang a note, because despite her depressing profession that she had left behind, she almost radiated the effervescent charm that would win a personality contest. (If she could laugh at her reaction to an inmate threatening her, she could laugh at anything.) But it turned out she did not need her adorable personality – she had a voice of sky. Then, when she let go of the belt, it was amazing that the chairs did not rotate under the force of her voice. Even John admitted that he should have turned – and do it if he was not too analytical when he sang his song.
Will Breman (Legend of the team), "Say you'll be there" – Grade: C | This 25-year-old Santa Barbara lover gaily informed us during his prior interview that he had Asperger and that the music was helping him to express himself. But the cold factor of his cover and the general tone of his voice ended up overcoming John and Gwen. Since Will named John as a musical influence, he went on stage to join his future competitor on a beautiful mini-performance of "Ordinary People" (on which Will really sounded better than during his audition). Gwen joked that she was going to do a song with Will but did not really do it.
Alex Guthrie (Team Kelly), "Love and Happiness" – Grade: B- | Introduced at first as a really blind audition – which was a shame because this 25 year old Georgian has a very winning smile – Alex took us to a blues bar at the beginning of the happy hour, offering a performance all at makes nice that & # 39; We easily ignored our first (and second) beer. There was absolutely no problem with that, it just was not "Wow! Exciting! It would not have bothered your conversation if you understood what I meant. Kelly was reluctant to turn her chair while she waited for him to climb higher with his voice. And it was finally bigger, which was right for Kelly and Gwen. I'll be curious to see if his coach can get more exciting performances from him. They must dazzle like his winning smile.
Kat Hammock (Team Blake), "Vienna" – Grade: B + | This Californian teenager was so cool in her preliminary interview that I thought I was watching an advertisement for Noxzema. But she was more than bright eyes and a radiant complexion. On stage, she became alive, not giving so much performance that she was possessed by her. Honestly, it was just cool to watch. Her expressions – on which I suppose some of you would call her too numerous – suggest that she did not sing all the notes, she lived all the notes. As for her voice, she was beautiful – a little ethereal, very sweet, a little like a silk, a jazz, Fiona Apple. When she told Kelly that her influences included Billy Joel, that also made sense. She is very present with a beautiful voice and great potential.
Marina Chello (Team Blake), "Walk Me Home" – Grade: B | At first glance (and listening), this 37 – year – old Uzbek woman reminded me of Annaleigh Ashford. In her initial interview, she told us how difficult it had been to move to the United States at age 11 (and learn the Mariah Carey's listening language). She signed at Bad Boy Records in 2007, but "it just did not happen." On hearing it on Monday, I could not imagine why. Marina sang with admirable control and enviable courage. This did not give me much emotion, but his talent was inescapable. It is interesting to note that Kelly noted that many singers perform their best numbers for their auditions, but she feels that Marina's pink blanket left her 80% more to give, which expresses some so what I thought smarter than ever.
Kyndal Inskeep (Team Gwen), "Never been to Spain" – Grade: C | This 22-year-old Nashville night singer / night singer revealed in her pre-interview that she felt depressed and deserted when her divorced mother remarried to a father of two at the age of 18. 5 years.
