The War On Drugs have announced details of their long-awaited new album and details of UK tour dates.
“I Don’t Live Here Anymore” is the band’s first album in four years and will be released on October 29 via Atlantic.
The group had teased the record this week, sharing a snippet of a new song on Instagram, and full details of the album have now arrived, alongside a video for the lead single “Living Proof”.
“I Don’t Live Here Anymore,” which followed 2017’s “A Deeper Understanding,” was recorded at seven studios, including Electric Lady of New York and Sound City of Los Angeles. A note announcing the album on the band’s official website calls it an “unusual rock album on one of our most common but intimidating processes: resilience in the face of despair.”

The group is set to take ‘I Don’t Live Here Anymore’ on a world tour that will begin in the United States next January.
After ending the US date streak at the end of February, the band will then travel to Europe in March, playing four UK dates, including a massive London gig at the O2.

Earlier this month, ahead of the album’s announcement, the band reportedly shot a new music video in a barn somewhere in the United States. “A fun movie shoot in our barn today for an upcoming album from Adam Granduciel and his band, The War On Drugs,” the barn owner wrote in a Facebook post which was later shared on Reddit.
Last November, Granduciel shared an update on the band’s next record. “In March, I would have told you that it was 80% done, and now, looking back, it was actually 40%,” he said. “Some songs have since been reinvented, which has been a blessing. Some songs only had one more layer of mud removed. “
