HOUSTON – Steve Kerr had a late night plan on Friday night, but a group of men who worked nearly 3,000 km thwarted it.
"I wanted to go to sleep," Kerr said after Saturday's session. "But I could not, like everyone else."
Shaun Livingston had the same plan. The veteran keeper's eyes wanted to close, but he could not help himself.
"Yes, I was ready," he says. "But this game has continued."
"This game" was the third game of the Portland West Conference semifinal between Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets. He worked overtime. Then another OT. Then a third. Finally, a fourth before the Blazers triumphed, 140-137.
Despite the two-hour time difference – which ended the match between Portland and Denver well beyond 1 hour from Texas – the Warriors were under surveillance as they have a 2-0 lead over Houston in the half -final of the conference.
"I went to bed early to sleep," joked veteran wing Andre Iguodala. "It's important for our four-way game, is not it?"
Then came the truth, as usual with Iguodala.

Nuggets center Nikola Jokic played 65 minutes out of 68. Portland got 60 minutes from CJ McCollum and 58 from Damian Lillard.
When asked if he could imagine playing 65 minutes in a match, Kerr was opposite.
"No. It was usually my playoff totals in 20 games," he said, not even bothering to say he made three starts in 128 playoff games. "(C & Was) unbelievable Both teams, resilience.This was a great basketball game.
Maybe being riveted to a late game on Friday will affect the Warriors on Saturday night for the third game against the Rockets? They do not think so.
"The guys are young," Kerr said. "They'll get back to it quickly. Everything will be alright. "

Kerr pointed out that "making a few early stops" was the first indication of how warriors would be mentally and physically.
