The widow of Ric Ocasek, Paulina Porizkova, expresses after the death of the singer of The Cars

Paulina Porizkova broke her silence after the death of her former husband, Ric Ocasek, leader of the group The Cars.

Porizkova, 54, posted a photo of flowers left outside New York City House that she and the Rock Pantheon Roll shared, simply writing "Thank you ".

The former model found Ocasek insensitive and unconscious in their Manhattan home on Sunday.

Respondents declared Ocasek dead at the scene. He was 75 years old.

Porizkova and Ocasek met in 1984 on the filming of The Cars' video for "Drive". They married in 1989 and have two grown sons.

In 2018, Porizkova announced that she and Ocasek had separated after 28 years of marriage.

"Our family has always been – and still is – a well-built car," wrote Porizkova on Instagram. "When we are all four together, we can go wherever the path leads us. But by bike, my husband and I do not walk anymore in unison. So we give up the bike. Ric and I have been separated peacefully for a year. The pictures of our happy family are actually happy family photos; we are simply not a couple anymore.
