The wife of the owner of GSW – discussions on Jay-Z led to threats

Nicole Curran, the wife of Joe Lacob, owner of Golden State Warriors, said Thursday that she had received death threats on social media and had even deleted her Instagram account after what some saw as a less than happy reaction from Beyonce when Curran spoke with Jay-Z.

A brief clip showed the famous couple at the edge of the field during the NBA Finals on Wednesday night at Oracle Arena. We see Beyonce and Jay-Z smiling and waving as Curran bends to talk to Jay-Z. Beyonce's smile moves away as the camera returns to play. The clip went viral on several social media sites, Curran being described as upsetting the superstar singer.

Curran said that she was asking Jay-Z and Beyonce if they wanted a drink because the Warriors had invited them to the game. She told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne that Jay-Z had asked for a soda, and she leaned – in the space near Beyonce, because of the noise of the crowd – for him ask if he wanted a little time. At this moment, we see Beyonce who looks serious, then on the ground.

"There was no hostility," Curran told Shelburne. "I was trying to be a good hostess."

She added, "I have never experienced such cyberbullying, I can not believe that our players are enduring it, that children are going through it."

Curran said Beyonce and Jay-Z had been invited to her and the Warriors three or four times in the past without incident.
