The wild encounter of Biden in New Hampshire

HAMPTON, N.H. – It was supposed to be a standard rendezvous in a coastal city of New Hampshire.

But Joe Biden inadvertently created a ruckus in a pizzeria on Monday when reporters and spectators climbed onto tables and broke glass objects in a frantic race to better see the former vice president.

The small demonstration marked Biden's first foray into the state for early voting since the launch of his presidential campaign in April.

Biden has gathered a hundred people in The Community Oven, where he exposed his vision of unification of the country and strengthening the middle class. After delivering his speech, Biden answered half a dozen questions from the audience.

"I want to restore the soul of this country," Biden told the crowd. "Frankly, I really want to rebuild the backbone of this country."

Biden called for a free community college, protecting health care and getting rid of President Donald Trump's tax break during his speech. The former vice president also said that he was preparing a speech to outline his environmental vision by the end of the month. "We need a revolution in the environment," Biden said.

As he spoke, he came down from the small stage to survey the crowd of people sitting around the tables. At one point during his speech, while the press was cluttered in front of the restaurant's brick pizza oven, Biden pointed to a person standing near the hot oven and joked "the man must sweat".

After finishing speaking, the event took on a chaotic atmosphere Supporters rushed to take pictures with the former vice president. As the crowd around Biden was so large, reporters and spectators climbed onto tables and sat on chairs to take pictures of Biden as he took selfies and shook hands. That's where things went bad.

One person broke a glass and another spilled a table as Biden walked slowly to the crowded restaurant. When Biden unexpectedly took a question from the reporters halfway down the line of photos, it sparked another crazy race to him.

Biden drew a mostly white and middle-aged crowd to the afternoon party, where he received a gift: a New Hampshire license plate bearing the symbol "BIDEN" .

The former vice president mentioned former President Barack Obama at least three times during his visit to Hampton. Biden called Obama "a heck of a chair" and said he did not have enough credit. At another time, Biden told the story of his decision not to participate in the 2016 race, explaining in detail how he had confided to Obama about his choice. Biden also stated that he would not have introduced himself to Clinton, adding that he considered her a friend.

"What excites me the most, and I really mean it, is to do something against the abuse of power," Biden said during a question and answer session. He cited his involvement in the civil rights movement, protesting the Vietnam War and advocating for the Violence Against Women Act. "I've never liked bullies," Biden added.

Outside the restaurant, the scene was clearly calm. A handful of spectators stood in the parking lot near a black SUV, trying to spot the Delaware Democrat. There was a man with a hat "Make America Great Again" and a pair of protesters with a large painted panel bearing the inscription "Even Old Joe". Nearby, a couple sold Biden unofficial country products.
