The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’s gets new trailer

Being a witcher is difficult, but becoming so even more so. Where the first major trailer showed off a few jokes and actions, Monday’s trailer dwells on the gruesome process of taking children and turning them into monster hunters. But fans still have plenty of time to watch a young Vesemir – Geralt’s mentor and star of The wolf’s nightmare – haggle for gold and kill monsters.

Originally revealed in early 2020, with more details announced at WitcherCon last month, The wolf’s nightmare takes place years before Vesemir meets Geralt. The animation studio behind the film is Studio MIR, which is also responsible for The legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender. It is directed by Han Kwang II and written by Beau de Mayo. He also has an impressive voice cast, including Theo James (Castlevania) like Vesemir, Lara Pulver (Sherlock) like Tetra, Graham McTavish (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey) like Deglan, and Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica) voicing Lady Zerbst.

The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare will debut on Netflix later this month on August 23. The witcherThe second season of will debut later this year on December 17th. The second spin-off in the series, a live-action prequel television series called The Witcher: Origin of Blood, will arrive on Netflix next year or in 2023.
