Photos from Netflix’s The Witcher set reveal that The Wild Hunt will make an appearance in Season 2 of the hit fantasy series.

The witcher Season 2 is weeks away from packaging production and new details continue to surface thanks to photos from the UK set.

The most recent photos, provided by Redanian Intelligence, show warriors on horseback on a beach, dressed in grim gray armor resembling that of the Red Riders of Wild Hunt – the Aen Elle warriors of Tir ná Lia. Neither Henry Cavill nor any of the other stars of the Netflix series can be seen in the photos, so it is unclear where or when in the series’ plot the scene will take place.

Based on the Wild Hunt from Scandinavian mythology, the Horsemen were introduced to the Andrzej Sapkowski series of novels in Contempt time, chasing Ciri as she made her way to Hirundum before Yennefer and Geralt fought them. They are described as ghost-like beings crossing the sky. They are ruled by Eredin and roam different worlds including the mainland, taking beings such as the elves Aen Seidhe to serve as slaves to Aen Elle.

King Eredin was the main antagonist of CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The universally beloved video game concluded the video game trilogy and brought together Geralt, Yennefer, the Witches’ Lodge, Avallac’h, and Ciri to defeat the Wild Hunt once and for all.

Netflix Season 2 The witcher will adapt the events of Blood of the Elves and Contempt time, as well as at least one short story from Sword of fate. Officially released photos show Ciri’s training at the Kaer Morhen Witcher Fortress. Additionally, showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich said the series will explore aspects of Geralt and Ciri’s fatherly relationship more than the novels.

Read the official synopsis for The witcher Season 2 below:

Convinced that Yennefer’s life was lost in the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia takes Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. As the kings, elves, humans and demons of the continent yearn for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses within.

The witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as Dandelion. Season 1 is now available on Netflix.
