An Apple Watch strap equipped with front and rear cameras is finally launched after nearly four years of development. The Wristcam has an 8 megapixel camera capable of shooting 1080p videos and taking photos in 4K resolution and a 2 megapixel camera for selfies. Wristcam, originally called CMRA, displays images on the watch screen but has a separate battery, which the company says can last an entire day. You can take pictures and videos with just the push of a button on the bracelet, and it will automatically sync them to your iPhone when you drop it on its magnetically attached charging cable at night.

The device has 8 GB of memory for storing photos and videos. The camera connects to the watch via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and to the iPhone via Bluetooth 4.2, 5.0 and Wi-Fi.

The Wristcam strap weighs 23 grams, or about half the weight of the lightest Apple Watch, and comes in interchangeable colors including black, white, gray, pink, and sage. Both cameras are equipped with LEDs that light up when a photo or video is being taken, so that it is clear when the device is in photo taking mode. It is controlled by a multifunction button.

According to CEO Ari Roisman, the Wristcam can take up to 20 seconds to share a photo directly from the Watch via Bluetooth, but will sync directly with a connected iPhone.
