The Xiaomi 100W charger can fill the battery of your phone in less than 20 minutes – BGR

As exciting as the latest innovations in smartphone design in recent months, many of the key technologies that power these phones are not advancing at the same speed. For example, it takes more than two hours to fully charge iPhone XS from 0% to 100% with the supplied charger. Even modern "fast charging" technology, while useful, is not likely to dazzle anybody.

But the dream of fully recharging your phone in minutes may not be as far away as it seems. Tuesday, XDA shared a video originally published on Weibo by Lu Weibing, head of the Xiaomi's Redmi brand, showing the company's 100W Super Charge Turbo, which is apparently able to fully charge a 4000 mAh battery in 17 minutes .

As you can see in the video below, Xiaomi's new Super Charge Turbo 100W is being tested against Oppo's SuperVOOC 50W, one of the fastest charging solutions on the market today. . In just seven minutes, the phone has already reached the 50% load and barely 10 minutes later, it reaches 100%. Meanwhile, in the same 17 minutes, the SuperVOOC charger was "only" able to charge his phone up to 65%:

To put some of these numbers in perspective, the iPhone XS Max has a battery capacity of 3,174 mAh, while the Galaxy S10 + has a battery of 4,100 mAh. In theory, using this technology, both phones could be fully charged from 0% to 100% in less than 20 minutes. Unfortunately, Xiaomi did not provide any additional details or information regarding the publication of the Super Charge Turbo. We can only dream of a real quick recharge.
