Less than an hour after renewal for The obsession of Hill House on Netflix has been announced, the theme of the second installment has been revealed. It will be called The obsession of Bly Manor. As part of the announcement of this morning's revival, it became clear that the horror series of Mike Flanagan and Tracy Macy would become an anthology, the second episode describing a new story with new characters. Bly mansion is the setting for the new psychological Gothic horror Henry James The turn of the screw, which takes place almost entirely in the old manor house. It is there that two young orphans are cared for by a young housekeeper and by whom most of the story is told by.
There have been multiple adaptations and revisions of The turn of the screw in various media, including critically acclaimed films Innocents (1961), directed by Jack Clayton, and Michael Winner's precedent The Nightcomers. Among the many adaptations to television, there is a recent BBC movie of 2009, adapted by Sandy Welch, starring Michelle Dockery and Sue Johnston.
