Officials said Saturday that more than 173,300 pounds of frozen pork dinners were being recalled from the country's stores because consumers had found glass or hard plastic in the meat.
Boston Market brand frozen dinners were produced by Bellisio Foods, an Ohio-based company, from December 7, 2018 to February 15, 2019, according to the Food Inspection and Food Safety Department of the US Department of Agriculture. United.
"The problem was discovered when the establishment received consumer complaints about foreign materials in glass or hard plastic in the rib-shaped slab," said a statement from FSIS.
According to the food safety agency, there have been no reports of "adverse reactions" or injuries caused by contaminated freezer meat. Anyone concerned has been invited to contact a health professional.
The products were sold nationwide and shipped to Defense Department facilities in Tucson, Arizona, officials said. The recall concerns products bearing an establishment number indicating "EST. 18297 "on the flap of the box.
According to the FSIS announcement, the following products were included in the recall:
- 14 oz. Black cardboard boxes containing "BOSTON MARKET Home Style Meals PATTY PORK COAST WITHOUT BONE WITH BBQ SAUCE AND MASHED POTATOES" dated 12/07/2019, lot code 8341, 01/04/2020, lot code 9004, 01 / 24/2020 lot code 9024 or lot code 02/15/2020 9046, shown on the label.

Last month, Perdue recalled more than 68,000 pounds of organic chicken nuggets, fearing that these items would contain wood.
