One reader wishes there were easy websites to sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine. So far, getting a photo has been a challenge.

The Texans want vaccines – and they’re destroying the site that could help them plan one. I jumped on the site as soon as the Texas Department of Health and Human Services launched their new vaccine planning tool today.
It turns out that I was not alone.
However, within minutes I received a message that made me nervous. He said, “We are currently experiencing a high volume of traffic. You have been placed in a queue and will be admitted shortly.” The message also warned users not to close your browser.
Fortunately, the wait was not too long and I was able to enter.

According to their website, the Texas Public Health Vaccine Scheduler is a new way to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine at local clinics.
People will need to register online at GetTheVaccine.dshs.texas.gov.
You will receive an email or text to find out when and where to get vaccinated. But what if there is nothing available? Don’t worry, if there is no clinic available near you, you will be directed to other places to receive your vaccine.
Residents without Internet access can also call (833) 832-7067 for assistance in registering.
