There’s a code hidden in Intel’s new graphics card teaser

Intel posted a cryptic teaser on Twitter This morning, that seems to suggest that the chipmaker is preparing to release more details about its long-awaited gaming graphics card, the Xe HPG.

What this information is nobody Knows it, but Intel has been dropping tiny crumbs on the Xe HPG for several months. Last august, Intel said its gaming GPU could be shipped in 2021, and during its talk at CES 2021, the company mentioned that it had found a way to use both an integrated GPU and a discrete GPU at the same time.

Intel did not say if this would be a feature only for its graphics cards and processors, or if it would be compatible. with Nvidia and AMD cards, but it is clearly something that the company works onot. We may be able to learn more about the feature in a future Intel webcast March 23. Or maybe the reveal date will be March 26.

Why March 26? According to Wccftech, there is a binary code in the video which, if translated correctly, points to a treasure hunt site. “Welcome to the Xe HPG Scavenger Hunt” is prominently displayed in a small black box on the website. There is a March 26, 9 a.m. “Launch date” PST, and a note for people to come back that day and enter their “secret code”. The code seems were hacked by a Twitter user.

There is no other information on how to find this secret code. It’s possible that this is related to the March 23 webcast, but it doesn’t seem likely at this time. Like most treasure hunts, there is a series of hidden object and puzzles to solve before you reveal the mystery at the end or break free from the escape room; Gizmodo contacted Intel for clues, but haven’t heard anything back yet.

Intel officially released its first Xe desktop GPU back in january. However, these are primarily aimed at low budget desktops, non-gaming ones, and most cards come bundled with prebuilt PCs rather than as a standalone, standard item. The Xe HPG is said to be more of a mid-tier card and competitively priced compared to Nvidia and AMD.

So Intel is preparing for Something, but he’s clearly trying to create more mystery to generate excitement. Consider us excited.
