These 6 shares of the S & P 1500 have more than doubled in 12 months

[ad_1]

It was surprising to see US equities picking up this year, after a dismal fourth quarter, in line with the Federal Reserve's move to monetary tightening to the dovish and the usual policy followed since 2008 by investors. The highest (and lowest) market travelers have their own stories that lead to exceptional performance.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average

DJIA, + 0,90%

reported 16.1% this year (dividends reinvested) until July 11, after a decline of 11.8% in the fourth quarter, according to data provided by FactSet. The S & P 1500 Composite Index (composed of the S & P 500 Index

SPX, + 0.46%

S & P 400 Mid Cap Index

MIDDLE, + 1.02%

and the S & P Small Cap 600 index

SML, + 0.87%

) returned 20.5% this year, following a 14% decline in the fourth quarter, including reinvested dividends.

The 12-month figures may be more interesting, with such a large drop before this year's euphoria, the Dow posted a return of 12.3% over the past year, while the S composite index & P 1500 posted a return of 9.0%.
