If you want to give yourself a slice of pizza or a takeaway burrito, it's the right time to do it. before Alexis Halpern, MD, emergency physician at New York-Presbyterian Medical Center / Weill Cornell, told Refinery 29. Heavier meals allow the body to spend more time and energy to break down food, explained Halpern. The alcohol you drink after the event will take longer to settle in your bloodstream.
However, the fact that junk food is really more hearty than, say, a salad does not necessarily mean that, before a night of drinking, you should not at least try to find nutrient solutions.
"If you give back to your body what it needs and what it loses when you drink, you will feel better, anyway," said Halpern, so that foods high in protein, Zinc, vitamin B, potassium and even high water content foods are excellent options.
