New Orleans High School was accepted at 115 colleges and received more than $ 3.7 million in scholarships.
Love says she lost count of the number of schools she ended up signing up for.
"I kept applying," Love told CNN. "I wanted to see how many people I could enter."
But she did not expect to receive good news from so many colleges.
"At first I did not think I'd have that much, but then they kept coming and I thought, 'Oh, my God,'" said Love.
Love earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.7 and is involved in organizations at New Orleans International High School, including the cartoon club, video game club, national honor society, society Honorary Society and the Rho Kappa Social History Society. She also works part-time after school selling ties, cufflinks and socks at Riverwalk.
She said that she did not know yet which school she was going to attend, although she plans to study at Louisiana State University, at the University of Valparaiso, at the University of California. University of North Texas, at Fisk University, Randolph University, Brandeis University, and the University of Mississippi.
She plans to visit some schools and make her final decision on May 1st.
She wants to be a teacher
Once she chooses, she wants to study elementary education and become a teacher.
"I like to influence others so that they are good and their best," Love said.
Elder brother of five children, she has a lot of experience with young children.
His favorite subject in school is the science of the environment.
"I'm going to get to know the world and what's going on," said Love.
A love for reading and art
Her advisor Denise James remembers seeing Love during lunch breaks with her nose in a paperback.
"Antoinette is a very sincere student with a nice personality," James said. "She is focused and likes to read and has managed to maintain a very impressive average."
Love pursued rigorous courses in high school and excelled, proving that she is prepared for the university, added James.
Outside of school, Love likes to paint and take pictures. She likes to put paint in a mug, mix different colors and pour it on a canvas, an artistic style called casting in acrylic.
For high school students who are applying to colleges soon, Love advises them to apply for both the joint application and the common black application. She also suggests asking for a fee waiver and submitting applications to schools that do not charge them.
