The original Pokémon Snap, released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999, saw players ride the Zero-One buggy across the generically named Pokémon Island at the behest of Professor Oak. New Pokémon Snap offers players a whole new region to explore, a new teacher to guide them, and new ways to edit and share endless photos of adorable pocket monsters.
We are doing an ecological study of the Lental region in New Pokémon Snap. Guided by Professor Mirror, we’ll ride the Zero-One again, documenting the wild Pokémon of the various islands in the Lental region.
We will be taking pictures of pocket monsters wearing their pocket monsters, rated from one to four stars based on photo composition, poses, and the amount of photo frame filled. Throwing special items at Pokémon can change their behavior, giving us the ability to capture rare poses. The camera can be used to scan as well as to photograph, uncovering hidden monsters and other secrets hidden in the landscape.
New Pokémon Snap is not just about filling a pokédex. We will also be able to edit our personal photos, add filters and stickers, and upload them to the Internet to be judged by our peers.
G / O Media can get commission
While there are new layers and features in the game, New Pokémon Snap seems to have the same energy as the original 22 years ago. Can’t wait to sit back and watch some pocket monsters when the new game falls on April 30.
