This is what happens to Netflix in December 2018

December tends to be the month for big movies. The awards season is fast approaching and the films that anticipate critics praise their debut before the end of the year, hoping to be fresh in the minds of the mysterious Oscars voters. Although these types of films are traditionally making their debut in movie theaters, Netflix now wants to participate in this game.

On December 14, Netflix will debut with Alfonso Cuarón. "Roma" a film that looks like an Oscar forerunner at the moment. Even if you will have the opportunity to watch "Roma" at the movies a week later, Netflix will primarily add the film to its streaming service – a definitive break with tradition for typical oscar launches.

Netflix also has an original Sandra Bullock featuring Blockbuster-esque called "Bird box" which will debut on December 21st. In this film, the characters must cover their eyes so as not to see an unknown force that kills all those who watch it. It sounds a bit like "A Quiet Place" this year, in which characters must be extremely quiet, lest a mysterious antagonist hear and kill them. Yes, let's talk about more movies about random senses removed for horror purposes.

As always, Netflix also adds some non-original movies. "The great Lebowski" and "Avengers: Infinity War" out.

Netflix offers a variety of original holiday promotions throughout the month. I am particularly excited for "Neo Yokio: Pink Christmas" and "The chilling adventures of Sabrina: the story of winter"

These suggestions are however only the tip of the iceberg. Netflix has added more than 60 originals this month, as well as all other non-original products. I have been covering Netflix for a long time and I think it's a new record for them. Read the full list of arrivals below.
