This is why Overwatch fans are disappointed by the Storm Rising event

Overwatch fans have criticized Storm Rising, the last event in the game, for its disappointing story and mission.

Overwatch Archives is one of the most anticipated events in the game's calendar. It offers both an injection of knowledge and PvE content – two things that are lacking and high demand among Overwatch fans.

The first two versions of the event, Uprising and Retribution, have been a huge hit with fans. The latest version, however, left a lot to feel a little disappointed.

Warning for those who have not yet joined the Storm Rising mission, this article contains revelations.

Storm Rising sees an Overwatch strike team fight Talon in the streets of Havana.

Why are Overwatch fans not satisfied with Storm Rising?

The gameplay of the mission itself has been criticized: an article in the subprogram Overwatch described it as "simply killing people and pushing a load, really disappointing," garnering over 4,000 positive votes.

One of the major disappointments, however, was that the story of this event centered on the story was dull.

The mission sees an Overwatch strike team consisting of Tracer, Mercy, Winston, and Genji chasing Maximilian, a high-level Talon personality who serves as Doomfist's accountant. During the capture, a cinematic ensues in which Maximilian negotiates with the team, Mercy asking "an introduction".

The scene is then filmed by Doomfist, who speaks with a masked character of what Talon could offer them. The figure drops its hood to reveal an omnique that has not yet been seen in the legend Overwatch.

Many fans have criticized the mission on the grounds that the "grand unveiling" presents a totally unknown character, which makes it completely meaningless for the moment.

The mission was also criticized for not having solved the slightest problem, instead of just asking more questions in the story of a universe that already has many different scenarios and very few answers.

Blizzard Entertainment

Fans have criticized the event for not offering much new knowledge.

With archives being one of the few occasions when Blizzard generally extends the Overwatch tradition, many fans are disappointed by this year's offer. Although it appears that a larger scenario is being constructed, the possibility of waiting another year before this scenario is further advanced is not particularly satisfactory.

It remains to be seen whether Blizzard will choose to reveal more, but it is possible that the mysterious hooded omnid is becoming the next hero of the game.

If this is the case, it is possible that their story will be revealed much earlier, as the hero's next release is scheduled for the end of July.
