The Los Angeles Lakers have managed an NBA title run and are currently striving to repeat as champions. There is always room to maximize the supporting cast around stars like LeBron James and Anthony Davis. There is a talent on the San Antonio Spurs that could help.
If there’s one Spurs player who could help the Lakers both immediately and in the long run, it’s Dejounte Murray. The 24-year-old hasn’t quite become an NBA star player, but he knows his personal strengths well and has a skill set that would help a candidate.
Murray is off to a good start to the very young 2020-21 NBA season. He is currently averaging 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.2 assists with strong efficiency in his first four games.
If the Lakers are unwilling to allow his starting point guardian to reach free agency without a long-term deal in place during the next NBA offseason, making a trade for Murray might be an answer. This would help provide a cheaper option for the position than what Dennis Schroder is likely to order.
Let’s take a look at a trade package between the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs centered around Dejounte Murray.
