At this point, the sex of Prince Harry's baby and Meghan Markle is still relatively unknown. The Duchess of Sussex revealed that she expected to keep the surprise, but sources close to the royal family also announced that they knew the genre and had shared it with friends. If the sources are true, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will welcome a baby this spring. However, there is a 50% chance that relationships (or at least sex) are wrong, which means that there is still hope for those who predict a little princess. If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a daughter, they have a lot of baby names to choose from. But only a few predictions of the royal baby name stand out as potential winners.

Alexandra is one of the main candidates. The name belongs to the great grandmother of Queen Elizabeth, Queen Alexandra. It means "help from humanity", which is very much about the brand for future philanthropic parents. In addition to Alexandra, some royal fans believe that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could name their daughter Victoria, according to Queen Victoria. The iconic woman ruled from 1837 to 1876 and proud feminists could choose to honor her heritage by naming their firstborn after her.

With the rumors of a potential little boy, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a lot of honorable names to choose from. Charles, Philip and Albert (birth name of King George VI) are in the foreground. However, there are also other ideas outside the box. One of the most unique royal names – and super sweet – is Spencer, in honor of Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana. Spencer was Diana's maiden name and naming her eldest son in honor of Princess Diana's family would be a special way for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to honor this part of the roots of their baby.

Rules of the royal name

The names are a big problem in the royal family. So much so that most future parents stick to a strict set of rules about royal names to help them choose the name of their prince or princess. See the royal protocol Prince Harry and Meghan Markle must follow, below.

Consult the queen

Before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can make a final decision on the name of their royal baby, they must consult the Queen. Although her opinion is not an end in itself, she is certainly well respected and could change their decisions.

Choose a royal family name

All members of the royal family do not choose a royal surname such as Alexander, George or Edward, but this is highly recommended. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are known to have broken the rules, but they may not try to bend them.

At least two first names

Most members of the royal family have at least two to three first names. So it's not surprising that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's baby has a very long list of noble names.
