Every Friday, we break down the biggest stories, the best jokes and capture a snapshot of the Fortite community. Here is May 4th to May 10th.
The biggest story of last week was the beginning of the new season. Each start of the season brings a peak of players, a kind of big card change and usually shifts the meta.
Highlights of the season 9 Patch Notes
You can find all the release notes here, but most people, if you read this site, are already aware of what happened.
The two new (ish) locations are a futuristically changed Tilted Towers and a Mega Mall. Both sites take advantage of the technological sensation that season 9 is aiming for.
Fortnite has also added its first transit system with the addition of slips that can allow you to quickly navigate the map.
In terms of weapons, only one new weapon was added to the shotgun, and it probably replaces Fortnite's most important weapon in the shotgun.
In addition, the grenades were not broken. (Why were they even vaulted in the first place?)
In addition to the pump, various mostly unused weapons have joined under Loot Lake. Clingers, buried treasure, poisoned dart trap, revolver with telescope, suppressed assault rifle, thermal assault rifle and balloons.
Season 9 release notes have also added a new challenge called the Fortbytes, which will together form an image allowing players to collect individual parts of the challenge.
As always, there was a long list of bugfixes and improvements to the UI. Fortnite Creative and Save the World have also received new changes and options.

What was the community talking about?
The conversation and answers focused on a few key topics. At the beginning of the week, people were already asking to reinstall the Drum Gun. Spoiler: It's not going to happen.
There are still many calls to come back as well. Spoiler 2: It's not going to happen.
The conversation changed when the shotgun was vaulted. Removing such an important weapon has made it the new criticism of choice.
We now have a mix of "unvault pumps", "vault gun" and "revert".
Finally, it seems that calls for the return are drowned by other complaints which, I think, are a good thing?
Another interesting development in community conversations is the widening gap between the highest sources and the competitive community.
Ninja took a position complaining about the other people complaining, some really complain. Ninja has not been an extremely positive voice for Fortnite in the past two seasons, but apparently the anti-Fortnite conversation has even surpassed his problems with the game.
Ninja who tells the truth, the streamers and their audience destroy this game and complain about everything that happens in r / FortNiteBR
Another example of the problem is played when Dakotaz dared to post that he actually enjoyed the game:
In the end, the problem has been developing for a long time. It was very difficult to find a balance between the competitive community and the rest of the Fortnite base of players.
This format is still in development for FortniteINTEL. Tell us what other sections you would like to see summarized each week!
