Thomas Demaryius Arrested for Vehicle Assault Charges – CBS Denver

DENVER (CBS4) – Demaryius Thomas, former receiver of the Denver Broncos, went to the police on Wednesday night following charges of assaulting vehicles following an accident on Feb. 16. in Denver. Police said Thomas was driving more than 70 mph in a 30-mph zone with two people inside when he lost control of the Auraria Drive near 12th Street and drove the car.

A spokesman for the Denver Sheriff's Department confirmed that Thomas had been arrested and was scheduled to appear in court early Thursday afternoon.

The vehicle assault charge is a crime. Two traffic offenses – reckless driving and lack of evidence of insurance – were also filed.

According to police documents, Thomas was driving at high speed at 12:20 on Auraria Parkway just before the accident. Thomas and a passenger suffered minor injuries and a passenger, more serious injuries. All three had to be taken to the hospital.

The Broncos traded the loser to the Houston Houston Texans in the middle of last season. His next professional game on Nov. 4 was back in Denver, where he faced his former teammates.
