Whenever a club hires a new coach, there are instantly natural concerns in the team. Will there be new players? Will this trainer use training that could take them out for a few minutes? Will they go for a certain style that could impact a player’s development? For Chelsea, a new day is upon them after the dismissal of club legend Frank Lampard. Should come for him is old PSG boss Thomas Tuchel, and the German coach gives American Christian Pulisic plenty of reasons to be excited about his arrival.

Pulisic made his Borussia Dortmund debut under Tuchel, and they have always had good ties. Their connection is quite strong. Tuchel strongly believes in Pulisic’s ability, and they know a bit about how to work together to win trophies.

Tuchel gave Pulisic 12 games in his debut season with the club in 2015-16, including his Bundesliga and Europa League debuts, before playing him in 29 games the following season, giving him his Champions League debut. .

But their most important achievement came in the 2017 German Cup final as Dortmund beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1. Pulisic took the penalty in the 67th minute which led to the winning goal after being knocked down by Lukas Hradecky. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finished the penalty, and with that, Pulisic and Tuchel won their first trophy.

Pulisic and Tuchel might be ready to team up again.

With Tuchel reportedly set to join, CBS Sports understands the two have a good relationship amplified by their success in the 2017 German Cup. If he ends up at Chelsea, then the obvious advantage is there for Pulisic, who, like Thiago Silva who played under Tuchel at PSG, knows exactly how the coach works.

Given how well Pulisic has grown under Tuchel, working together again is an intriguing possibility. If Tuchel joins, you can count on Pulisic to get plenty of minutes and chances to prove himself. If the story is any guide, expect Tuchel to potentially use Pulisic on both wings and also let him float a bit more in the middle to show off his creativity behind an attacker.
