McCarthy recorded the video with her husband Ben Falcone during Christmas Day in Australia, joking that they were “desperate” to appear in the film. The movie was full of their signature humor, including pronouncing “Marvel” as “Carvel” and even offering to work at the craft service table. “You make a wonderful movie and a wonderful ice cream cake!” McCarthy said in closing.

McCarthy and Falcone were recently spotted on the set of Thor: love and thunder alongside Sam Neill and Matt Damon, as well as Luke Hemsworth. They were filming a scene with Asgardian actors recounting the events of Thor: Ragnarok, with McCarthy portraying the death goddess Hela. Neill, Damon and Hemsworth wrote a similar scene review Thor: The Dark World in Ragnarok – Neill played King of Asgard Odin, while Hemsworth stepped into the role of Brother Chris as Thor and Damon played Loki.

Falcone has directed McCarthy in several films including HBO Max’s Super intelligence. The duo are set to reunite for Netflix original film Thunder force, which casts McCarthy and Octavia Spencer as a pair of estranged friends turned superheroes. Thunder Force, which is written and directed by Falcone, will premiere on Netflix on April 9.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: love and thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillen as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film hits theaters on May 6, 2022.
