MANHATTAN, New York – Thousands of people gathered near Central Park in Manhattan on Saturday to voice their displeasure with the vaccination warrants and passport requirements being implemented in the city by Mayor Bill de Blasio this month- this.
New York City began enforcing a COVID-19 vaccination mandate on Monday, with de Blasio warning that “there will be consequences” for those who break the rules.
The mandate requires facilities to install certain signage and verify customer evidence of COVID-19 vaccination, such as vaccination cards issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), New City vaccination records. Participants first gathered at Columbus Circle and then walked to Times Square, led by one of the speakers, Jo Rose.

The participants chanted “my body, my choice”, “no vaccine passport” and “freedom against fear!”
At the rally in Times Square, people spoke about standing up for their rights and against tyranny.
Among the diverse group of speakers, the themes of unity and freedom were often brought up.
One speaker said: “The one thing that brings us all together, different groups, different types, is our stand against tyranny. When they try to take away our freedoms, we stand up.
Another said, “Don’t use this as a political front. I don’t care about Biden. I don’t care about Trump. I don’t care if you’re a Republican. I don’t care if you’re a Democrat. I don’t care if you’re black, yellow, white, purple. I don’t care if you are christian, muslim, gay, straight. I do not care. It is a human problem and it should bring us all together. “

Artist Tessa Lena also spoke at the rally: “It’s not even about these injections, it’s about establishing a system of artificial immunity.” She explained how “we are people of love, we will win with love”.
Mayoral candidate Bill Pepitone also spoke at the rally: “We have a president and a so-called mayor who tell us we can’t go to work, we can’t feed our families. Jenkins compared vaccine segregation to racial segregation in the 1960s. “Sixty years ago I couldn’t walk into a restaurant because they said I was unclean… Now they tell us we’re in. again unclean, not just blacks, not Latinos, but all of us. We need to unite beyond race and love one another as humans.
He urged people to only frequent restaurants that support freedom.

Mary Josephine Generoso, manager of Pasticceria Rocco bakery in Brooklyn, said she would not discriminate against customers by requiring proof of vaccination, defying the mandate implemented by the mayor. The company has placed signs announcing its policy to customers.
“I heard de Blasio speak, and we immediately created this sign that said ‘we do not discriminate’. There isn’t a bone in my body that will allow me to discriminate against anyone for any reason, any day of the year.
She called de Blasio “the greatest unifier in New York, because he brought us all together for one cause.”
“I take this position against the vaccine mandate because obviously it’s completely discriminatory. It forces me to separate clients based on vaccine, ”she told The Epoch Times.
