According to NYSEG and National Grid, nearly 5,000 households in Erie County were still without electricity on Sunday morning due to weather-related weather-related failures.

NYSEG teams were still investigating the cause of the outages that left 4,338 customers, mostly in the cities of Boston, Hamburg and Orchard Park, without electricity. NYSEG is expected to restore power to these areas around 11:45 am

Erie County executive Mark Poloncarz said NYSEG had lost three substations due to Saturday night weather conditions, which had contributed to blackouts.

National Grid reported 318 people without electricity in the Clinton-Fillmore section of Buffalo, as well as small outages in the city of Tonawanda.

At one point early Sunday, more than 15,000 people were without electricity.

National Grid said it was positioning the teams to deal with potential wind gusts of up to 100 km / h, starting later this morning and continuing until Sunday night.
