At least three police officers have been shot dead by a suspect while responding to a 911 call about domestic disturbances at a home in Cedar Park, Texas, police officials said.
Unidentified officers were rushed to an area hospital in stable condition while the suspect remained barricaded inside the home, Cedar Park Police tweeted.
A law enforcement official told ABC News the call concerned domestic disturbances and at least three people were being held hostage inside the home.
Residents of the suburban city of Austin were told to stay indoors as the suspect remained inside the home.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott shared his condolences for the injured officers.
“Our hearts go out to the police officers who were injured while protecting the community of Cedar Park this afternoon,” he said in a statement.
