Shortly after 10:00, the Seattle police received a report stating a knife attack in the area of 6th Avenue. Officers found that three victims were stabbed in the street, said department spokesman Sgt. Sean Whitcomb told reporters. A victim met with a nearby business to seek refuge, he said.

The suspect escaped but police found the naked suspect several blocks away, around 8th Avenue and Olive Way, and placed him in custody, Whitcomb said.

Police found a knife and the man's clothes, which he put to flight while he was fleeing, the department said on his police blot.

"We think it was a random, unprovoked attack, so it's very worrying for us," Whitcomb said.

The assault took place outside a Nordstrom store, reported CNN's subsidiary KIRO.

The victims are a 77-year-old man, a 75-year-old man and another male victim, who is reportedly about 55, said Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman Kristin Tinlsey.

The 75-year-old man was stabbed at the back of the neck and the 77-year-old victim at the back, according to the Seattle police blot.

Both are in stable condition at the Harborview Medical Center, authorities said.

The third victim was stabbed in the forearm. He was treated at the scene, the police said.

A victim is a Nordstrom employee, KIRO reported.

The police did not immediately identify the suspect.
