Three police officers shot dead in Cedar Park, Texas, suspect barricaded inside his home

At least three police officers were gunned down while responding to a call at a home in Cedar Park, Texas, according to local officials.

The ministry’s Twitter account initially said officers responded to a call at the home in Natalie Cove, about 40 miles north of Austin.

The suspect barricaded himself inside the house following the shots, before the arrival of several security forces on the scene.

“We are at the scene of a shooting where several Cedar Park police officers were shot while responding to a call at a house off Natalie Cove,” the post read. “The subject is barricaded inside the house and several police forces are on the scene.”

Police later released an update stating that three police officers were shot, but that they are all currently receiving medical treatment and appear to be in stable condition.

The department added that the suspect has yet to be apprehended, making the area an “active” scene.

“At the moment, we can confirm that three Cedar Park police officers have been shot,” the tweet said. “They are in a local hospital in stable condition. It remains a very active scene, the subject is not in custody at the moment.”

The town of Cedar Park also tweeted about the incident and warned its residents to stay home until the situation is resolved.

“Please avoid Baghdad Rd. Between Osage and New Hope @CedarParkPD and Cedar Park on Fire Dept. closed the southern Baghdad route to Heritage, ”the tweet said.
