Three potential business destinations for Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers have made no indication that they will even accept commercial offers for one of their top two quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love.

However, it’s easy to see that the Packers are in a tough spot. Rodgers did not attend OTAs and the minicamp, leaving his training camp status in abeyance. What would it take to make Rodgers happy? If this is a long-term commitment from the Packers, where does that leave Love?

Unless Rodgers goes back on his current contract and either traded or retires within the next couple of years, it’s hard to see how things can stay the same.

So let’s say the Packers make a long-term commitment to Rodgers, and that’s evidenced by the deal on a new multi-year extension that makes it difficult to step up to their MVP for the next few years. All of a sudden, the plan of transition to love is almost thrown out the window.

In that scenario, the Packers might decide to let Love’s rookie deal go through, but then they risk losing it for nothing in free will. Another option would be to consider trading him with a team looking for a QB.

If I were the general manager of the Packers, there is no way that I would exchange love. He has the potential to become a star. However, if I were GM of one of the teams with uncertain futures at QB, I would answer the phone with Brian Gutekunst. Let’s look at three teams that should be interested in the love trade.
