Capcom has confirmed that three classic Resident Evil games will soon be available on Nintendo Switch. The original versions, Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4 all have an Eshop release date of May 21st.
Switch owners in North America can purchase Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 as part of a retail Origins collection, though it seems that games do not get a physical version in Europe. Preorders begin in all territories on February 28; the prices have not been revealed yet. There are no words regarding additions or modifications to these versions of the games.
Nintendo Switch had previously received Resident Evil: Revelations and Resident Evil: Revelations 2, but may be the first time that a main title of the famous horror series arrives on Switch. The first Resident Evil movie was released in 1996 and many of its successors are third-person survival games, while others are more action-oriented or first-person games. The 2002 series, Resident Evil 0 and 2005, Resident Evil 4, are among the best games in the series.
The last entry of the franchise is a remake of Resident Evil 2, launched on PS4, Xbox One and PC in January. We awarded 9/10 to the game in our Resident Evil 2 remake review, claiming it's a "stellar remake of the original", but it has not been released yet.
