After a season-opener win over Minnesota that saw new faces all over the field, Ohio State now plays host to Oregon’s No.12 on Saturday in its most high-profile non-conference game of the season.
With the game only two days away, Day took his last weekly media availability Thursday afternoon, joining his weekly radio show on 97.1 The Fan and briefly meeting with the media to offer some final updates.
Day was also joined by offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson for the last part of his radio show.

On playing against a talented defender from Oregon: “We’re going to have to play a game of position on the court sometimes.” Day says it’s “as athletic and fast a defense as we’ve been playing for a long time.”

Day says the team should play with emotion but not let emotion play with you.

Ryan Day has said Palaie Gaoteote’s waiver has been denied by the NCAA and he will not be eligible to play this season. He’s still on the Ohio State roster and will continue to be.

Day says the Buckeyes have faced a few different guys at center before this week, but says Luke Wypler has had a good week of training. Day said Wypler was “ready to go”.

“We’re going to keep spinning guys,” Day said of the Ohio State high school. Day says he thinks the defense will be on the pitch for 70-80 games.
