Authorities discovered that Emani Moss' body had been burned in a trash bag of his apartment complex at the end of 2013, according to the NBC affiliate, 11Alive. She weighed only 32 pounds when her body was found.

The girl's father, Eman Moss, said in his testimony that he had burned her to try to cremate her, according to 11Alive. He was sentenced for his role in the death in 2015 and is serving a life sentence.

Tiffany Moss remained calm and emotionless in court as the verdict was read. She herself was represented at her trial but never offered a defense or questioned any witnesses.

Reserve lawyers assigned to Moss said they would appeal the death sentence decision, reported Alive Tuesday.

If the calls fail and the sentence is upheld, Moss would be the third woman in Georgia to be executed, according to Alive.
