‘Tiger King’ star Joe Exotic books stretches limo, awaiting forgiveness from President Trump

There was a limo lying idle in a Texas parking lot on Tuesday night as “Tiger King” star Joe Exotic sat in jail hoping for a last-minute pardon from President Trump, local reports said.

Exotic, real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage, was so confident he would receive a presidential reprieve that he booked the limo ahead of time, Dallas-Fort Worth-based Fox 4 reported.

The station’s news helicopter spotted the limo in his attorney’s parking lot in Fort Worth.

Maldonado-Passage was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his role in a murder for pay plot targeting his main rival, Carole Baskin.

Eric Love, a private investigator working on the case, said in an interview with Metro on Monday that the Maldonado-Passage team expected to receive a pardon and “party” soon. According to Love, there was also a hairdresser and makeup artist on site, so the former Tiger King could freshen up before eating.

The defense team has been pushing for a presidential pardon for months.

“If I have ever admired anyone it would be you,” Maldonado-Passage wrote in a letter to the president in September. “Not because I need you to save my life, but because you stand up for what you believe, no matter what others think.

Fox News reported on Monday that Trump was considering between 50 and 100 last-minute commutations or pardons, according to two sources familiar with the situation. They were to be published Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.

Rapper Lil Wayne, who pleaded guilty to a handgun charge, is another character who could benefit from leniency.

A pardon for former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, who was arrested for fraud over the summer, has been described as “to be determined” or to be determined.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who faces 18 espionage charges and a maximum of 175 years in prison, is reportedly not on the president’s list.

Trump is also not expected to grant preventive pardons for his adult children or for himself.
