Golf superstar Tiger Woods was in surgery on Tuesday after sustaining multiple leg injuries when an SUV he was driving crashed and overturned in Los Angeles, authorities and his agent said.
Woods, who was the only person in the vehicle, was “pulled out of the wreckage with the ‘jaws of life’ by Los Angeles County fire and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries, ”the county sherriff department said. in a tweet.

Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg told Golf Digest in a statement: “Tiger Woods was in a single car accident this morning in California where he sustained multiple leg injuries.”
“He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support,” said Steinberg.
Woods’ stellar career was rocked in November 2009 when he crashed an SUV earlier in a fire hydrant outside his then residence in Windermere, Florida.
Woods was knocked out in the accident for more than five minutes, and his wife at the time reportedly used a golf club to smash a window in the vehicle and pull it out.

Woods was seen on social media Monday on a golf course with former Miami Heat basketball star Dwyane Wade.
Woods last competed in the PNC Championship in Orlando, Fla., Which ended on December 20. He played alongside his 11-year-old son Charlie Woods in the tournament. The duo finished seventh.
