Tiger Woods underwent additional follow-up procedures on Friday for injuries he sustained in a single car crash in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The procedures were performed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was transferred on Wednesday evening. Woods initially stayed at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for three days after the crash, had a rod placed in his shin, and screws and pins inserted into his foot and ankle during emergency surgery.
In a statement posted to Twitter on Friday, Woods account announced additional surgeries.
Tiger moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and received follow-up procedures for his injuries this morning. The procedures were successful, and he is recovering now and in a good mood.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday that Woods would have been transported to a facility other than Harbor-UCLA, a Level 1 trauma center, if his injuries were life threatening. Instead, he landed at Harbor-UCLA for surgery on many major injuries to his lower right leg. The incident was deemed “purely accidental” following an investigation by LACSD.
Officers also said Tiger’s life was saved because he was wearing his seat belt and driving a 2021 Genesis SUV. The vehicle ended up hundreds of feet from a median, which he drove through. , at the bottom of a sloping ravine on the side of the road. According to the LACSD, Woods was alert and aware at the crash scene – despite a crashed front end of his SUV – before being transported to Harbor-UCLA.
Harbor-UCLA’s chief medical officer Anish Mahajan provided a detailed update on Tiger’s surgeries on Tuesday evening after he was admitted to hospital.

Sports injury specialist Dr Michael Zuri told CBS Sports that it was likely that Woods would need additional surgeries in the near and distant future as his right leg continues to heal from major injuries requiring screws, rods and a fasciotomy “to relieve pressure due to the swelling.”
It’s still unclear how long Woods will stay at Cedars-Sinai, but it will likely take some time as medics try to put the lower half of his body back together. This could include skin grafts on his badly injured right leg. Protecting wounds and surgical wounds from infection will be paramount in the very near future, and a return to his home in Florida does not appear imminent.
“Learning to walk here is going to be a big step forward,” said Dr. David Agus, USC professor of medicine who was interviewed at CBS Sports headquarters on Wednesday. “Obviously it’s Tiger Woods. He’s going to get over it. He’ll do a lot more than just walk, but it will take time.”
“He’s going to undergo several surgeries over the next week or two,” Dr. Zuri said. “He’s definitely a threat to the limbs. Do I think he’ll lose his leg? Probably not.… Next week is critical. Infection is a major concern.… I would say that ‘One month is when they’ll sort of know what’s going on as long as he doesn’t have a bone infection or soft tissue complication. It’s a tenuous thing for a while. “
Woods, who will not be charged by LACSD, was in Los Angeles to host the Genesis Invitational, which is supported by his foundation and after the tournament, he was on a series of celebrity video shoots.
Tiger hasn’t played professional golf since the PNC Challenge in December, which he played with his son Charlie. Woods was recovering from a fifth back operation, which he had a few days before Christmas.
