How to take your keepers on multiple platforms in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 cross saves allows you to continue your progression between multiple platforms, whether on PS4, Xbox One, PC and possibly Google Stadia.

How to cross save in Destiny 2 should be relatively simple, although there are some Cross save the details – including various restrictions – you must know when you make the jump.

On this page:

Release date of Destiny 2 backup: When will cross backups arrive in Destiny 2?

The destinies cross 2 have a release date of August 21, allowing you to start moving your progress from one platform to another.

As for a specific Fate 2 crossed gain time release, it is as follows:

  • United Kingdom: 18h00 (Paris time)
  • Europe: 19h (CEST)
  • US East Coast: 13h (EDT)
  • West Coast United States: 10h (PDT)

In other words, like the usual time of daily reset.

How to save money in Destiny 2 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One

Before you can perform a cross-backup in Destiny 2, you must configure the system so that Bungie knows which accounts are connected to each other.

First, you need to sign in to Bungie.net, sign in to your Bungie account, and link to the platforms you want to play – to include your PSN account, your Xbox Live account, your account Blizzard and the moment of their launch, Steam and Google Stadia accounts.

Then you have to specify which account you want to play on other platforms. You can not choose a mix of characters and progression between accounts. Only one set of progress of a platform can be shared with others.

For most players who have played on one platform until now, it's simple, but if you play a two-way on a PS4 and a PC, you simply have to choose a play on the rest.

Once done, you can confirm the character set and progress that will be available on each of these linked accounts. The next time you log in to one of these accounts, your characters will appear – including all equipment, loot and progress that you unlocked along the way.

Learn more about how Destiny 2 cross-backup works

Destiny 2 cross save has some restrictions because of the way you bought content on one platform or another. They are as follows:

  • Silver will be locked to the original account you purchased it from, and can not be accessed again on this original platform. However, everything you buy with this money – including various Eververse cosmetics – will be available on other platforms.
  • Downloadable content, including extensions, annual pass and seasons, will be locked on the platform with which you purchased it. To read this content on other platforms, you must purchase it again on these platforms. This includes Forsaken, the annual pass and, at launch, Shadowkeep.
  • If you play the basic game without extensions or annual passes, you can equip your higher level equipment, but the falls will be of a lower level. For example, if you own Forsaken and you can receive drops up to a maximum of 750 on one platform, if you play on that same account on another platform without extensions, the falls will be capped at 380. This will change when the free version of the game, New Light, is launched, when everything is reset to the 750 power level.
  • You will be able to be part of only one clan with a safeguard in cross – This means that your current clan will be available on all platforms you play on. In addition, you can only play with clan members as they play on the same platform as you. You can see if anyone is using cross-screen backup on the list (thanks to Imgur via CapnTopDeck on reddit for this little preview 🙂

  • Although you can connect your Bungie.net account to Steam when cross-backup becomes available, it will not be posted on Steam before the launch of the free version of First Light. Until then, you have to play cross on Battle.net. Do not worry, progress – and downloads of downloadable content – will be postponed when the platform change takes place at no additional cost.
  • It is possible to disable cross save – useful to revisit characters not related to a certain platform after moving the cross game. Once you have, you have to wait 90 days before reactivating it again – which, according to Bungie, is to discourage any "activity such as account recovery by other players".
  • We do not know if Cross Save will unlock success per platform when you log in.. For example, will we unlock all PS4 trophies earned after playing Xbox Live? We will wait and see!
  • If there was any doubt, the ability to use Destiny 2 cross save is free – you just need to have the basic game (until the launch of New Light, which is free) and any downloadable content at the top.

Does Destiny 2 Cross Backup include the Destiny 2 Cross Game?

Finally, it is worth mentioning explicitly that the Destiny 2 backup and cross game are two different things. Although you can, for example, play your PS4 progress on a PC, you can not play with your PS4 friends on a PC. To do this, you must reconnect to PS4 or invite them to join you on PC.

With the free version of the Destiny 2 New Light release, this should be easier to do because you can freely access the base game on any platform – but in the meantime, you'll need everyone the game on wishes to play them with.
