The Time’s Up Foundation has argued that director Brett Ratner, accused of sexual misconduct in 2017, should not be allowed to return.
Director Brett Ratner was accused of sexual misconduct in 2017 by seven different women, causing Warner Bros. to distance itself from the filmmaker. Recently, it was reported that Millennium Media would embark on a project in association with Ratner’s RatPac Entertainment, an initiative which was condemned by the Time’s Up Foundation.
Foundation CEO Tina Tchen said: “TIME’S UP was born out of the national recognition of sexual harassment in the workplace. Our movement is the product of countless courageous acts on the part of many survivors, including those who spoke out against what they endured at the hands of Brett Ratner. She added: “Not only has Ratner never acknowledged or apologized for the harm he has caused, but he has also taken legal action to try to silence the voices of survivors who have come forward. “
Tchen then added, “You can’t go for a few years and then come back to the surface and act like nothing has happened. We haven’t – and won’t forget. And Millennium Media shouldn’t either. no return.”
Ratner’s accusers include actors Ellen Page, Melanie Kohler, Olivia Munn, and Natasha Henstridge, among others. Ratner has denied the allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment. He has since dropped the libel lawsuits he brought against his accusers.
