One of Twitch’s most popular streamers, TimTheTatman, has decided to quit the platform and join YouTube Gaming after nine years with Twitch.

Tim broke the news today with a video post on Twitter that consisted of walking through the doors to see his past and future.

Yesterday he ambiguously posted a photo of a dark room with two white doors, ominously suggesting that an announcement was coming. And this morning, his verified button on Twitch was removed, giving a clue to the move.

TimTheTatman joins DrLupo as another streamer who recently left Twitch for YouTube Gaming. Other notable Twitch personalities who left Twitch for YouTube include CouRage (who featured in Tim’s announcement video today), Valkyrae, and Dr Disrespect.

In the last year on Twitch, Tim’s channel has averaged 34,634 viewers, totaling over 60 million hours of viewing, according to SullyGnome, Twitch’s stats tracker. His channel has more than seven million subscribers.

On YouTube, its main channel has 3.79 million subscribers. His Twitter account also has 2.5 million followers.

Tim is among the 20 most watched streamers on Twitch over the past year, making him the most prominent content creator to leave the platform to stream exclusively on YouTube Gaming.

The only streamers to leave Twitch with more audiences than Tim were Ninja and Shroud, who both made deals with Mixer before returning a year later after the platform closed.
