Tinder may be moving from pairing to original video content. according to Variety, Tinder has developed a long series of styles Choose your own adventure on a group of characters facing the end of the world. Of course, it will be controlled by scans, and it would include more than two hours of content.
While all of this sounds like a particularly strange move from Tinder, there seems to be a matching motive behind all this. Variety reports that viewers who make the same choices can then be matched, thus giving them room for discussion and suggesting that they have something in common. Tinder declined to comment.
For the moment, we do not really know how it will work or when one of them will be presented. Variety says that the six episode series could even later go on to a traditional streaming service, which would mean that it's more than just a silly game designed to put people on the scene. The project was led by Karena Evans, who made several video clips for Drake, including "God's Plan".
Dating apps have increasingly looked for different ways to bring people together. Last year, Tinder has been trying to involve people at music festivals and at breakout week hot spots. Scruff, the app for dating, even tried to create an integrated quiz, like HQ, to bring people together.
As streaming games and television take up more and more time, mixing the two may seem logical as a way of attracting people to Tinder. And while choosing your own adventure is certainly an innovative approach, it's not actually Tinder's first attempt at original content: the company also offers a podcast on the quirks of dating.
