Even after Wonder Woman 1984 arrived in December, audiences are still hungry for massive blockbusters. Fortunately, Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Max will be giving it to us throughout the year, both in theaters and on the WarnerMedia streaming service. One of the first big hits to come out of the gate under this new deal will be Godzilla vs. Kong, recently upgraded from a May release to earlier in March. If the first Godzilla vs. Kong the trailer is an indicator, this is going to be an absolute blast.

Godzilla seems to have turned against humanity, but no one knows why. This is where King Kong comes in. Captured on Skull Island, the adult ape is now the size of Godzilla, and humanity needs him to stop the lizard’s path of destruction, making it a battle. epic and destructive. This first trailer gives us a glimpse of two of the fights between the titular titans, the one that takes place in the middle of the ocean on an aircraft carrier like some sort of arcade game. The other takes place in a neon cityscape, which we assume to be Tokyo, and it gives us one of the toughest moments in the entire trailer.
On the human side of the story, Millie Bobby Brown (Strange things) resumes its role of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. In the same way Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2) and Brian Tyree Henry (If Beale Street could speak), she thinks there is a mysterious reason why Godzilla has turned against humanity, and she is dedicated to finding out. Then there is Rebecca Room, who appears to be a King Kong expert. She also shares a bond with the Giant Ape, as they both set out to protect a young orphan, who appears to be the key to getting Kong to fight Godzilla on behalf of humans.
It looks like a huge blockbuster from the 1990s in the best possible way. I am in the process of Independence day vibrations mixed with Pacific Rim. The music in the trailer alone rocked me. It doesn’t match the feel of the film’s comeback, but it underscores the battle between these two titans so perfectly. Hope there is a decent story here to go along with the whole hit show.
Godzilla vs. Kong is led by Adam wingard (You are next, Blair witch) with a script of Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein. The rest of the cast includes Alexandre skarsgard (Big little lies), Shun Oguri (Gintama), Eiza Gonzalez (Baby driver), Jessica henwick (Iron fist), Kyle Chandler (the wolf of Wall Street), and Demian Bichir (The nun).
Legends collide Godzilla against Kong as these mythical adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world at stake. Kong and his protectors embark on a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphan with which he has forged a unique and powerful bond. But they find themselves unexpectedly in the path of a rabid Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the world. The epic clash between the two titans – sparked by unseen forces – is just the beginning of the mystery that lies deep in the heart of the Earth.
