TJ Oshie is probably missing for the rest of the playoffs, but a message was sent to Capitals fans on Twitter before match five.
Thank you all for your wishes for success. I am in good hands with our training staff, doctors and especially Mama Bear at home with her 2 small assistants. DC I need you to make some noise tonight for my boys. I want to hear you through television. # ALL IN CAPS # Back2Back @Capitals
– TJ Oshie (@ TJOshie77) April 20, 2019
Oshie launched the tweet Saturday afternoon after head coach Todd Reirden announced that he would miss the fifth game and would be absent "indefinitely" after suffering an upper body injury Thursday. The Capitals will have a more specific calendar on the recovery of Oshie in the coming days.
Oshie's father also posted Sunday in the shirt of his son. His message to the Caps was to win and #DoItForOshie. The signed shirt on the picture reads "Love Ya Coach!"
Oshie was injured in the fourth game against the Hurricanes when he crashed the shoulder first on the board after a push from Warren Foegele. Foegele received a two-minute boarding penalty but was not suspended by the NHL's Player Safety Department.
