Given the difficulty in having Snowpiercer on TV in the first place, it makes sense that TNT would want to keep their Bong Joon Ho movie adaptation as strong as possible. You do not replace a showrunner and to the Director so what move the series from one network to another just so you can end it prematurely, right? TNT seems to agree, because Variety said the network has commissioned a third season of the drama. It comes just about a week before the show’s second season premiere, so it seems like a relatively rare positive sign for Snowpiercerthe future outlook of – kind of like when you were told the world is a frozen wasteland, but then you see a polar bear and you realize that things might start to be right again. (This happens in the movie.)

Snowpiercer the show, like Snowpiercer the film, is about a transport train that goes around endlessly around the planet while transporting the last survivors of humanity in the aftermath of a freezing apocalypse. It stars Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly. Season three obviously won’t premiere for some time, but the gap between seasons one and two wasn’t particularly long.
