Dancing With the Stars has just completed its 29th season, its first without longtime host Tom Bergeron, though fans hoping for his return shouldn’t hold their breath.
Bergeron, 65, who has been inexplicably let go after hosting the season since its inception in 2005, spoke to TV Guide (via TV Insider) about the possibility of a comeback.
The host, whose co-host Erin Andrews was also fired, both replaced by Tyra Banks, made it clear that there was no chance he would return, in his first interview since leaving.

No chance: The host, whose co-host Erin Andrews was also dropped, both replaced by Tyra Banks, made it clear that there was no chance he would return, in his first interview since his departure.
“When people say, ‘I won’t look until you get back,’ I say, ‘Well, there’s really no’ until ‘here. “This train has left the station,” Bergeron said.
‘I appreciate the feeling, and I don’t blame anybody if they [watch],’ he added.
The longtime host, who also hosted ABC’s funniest videos about the house and Hollywood Squares, thought DWTS would mark the end of its hosting days, but not like this.

“ I always thought dancing would be where I would end my term as a host, ” Bergeron said of his 28 seasons on the show.
When asked what the future held in store for us, Bergeron replied that what was to come next he didn’t think would be in the accommodation business.
“I hosted all imaginable formats. There is no real fire in my belly to start over. Having said that, I am always open to surprises, ”he said.

Bergeron began his broadcasting career as a New England disc jockey in the 1980s and early 1990s before moving on to national television.
He hosted Hollywood Squares from 1998-2004, which overlapped his role as host on America’s Funniest Home Videos from 2001-2015.
He’s also tried his hand at acting, with small roles in Gremlins, Star Trek Enterprise, Castle, while recently appearing in Fox’s The Masked Singer.

“My career path is like a hostage note cut and pasted in a bunch of different magazines,” Bergeron joked.
“I considered myself to be a broadcaster and I was very fortunate that such wonderful opportunities presented themselves. I took part in two network shows for almost 15 years each, so life has been good, ”he added.
When asked if he was planning on writing another book, after his 2009 memoir I’m Hosting As Soon As Possible, “he joked,” I think the sequel should be Je relax as slowly as possible.
