Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger move closer to Brett Favre’s all-time record for number of times fired

Tom Brady rewrote the NFL record book, but he will likely own a record soon that he would rather not have – unless Ben Roethlisberger gets there first.

This record is the NFL’s all-time record for the number of times dismissed. Brett Favre holds the all-time record with 525 sacked in his career, but Brady is right behind with 521 sacked, and Roethlisberger is very close (tied with John Elway for third all-time) with 516 times. sacked.

Unlike sacks for defensive players, which the NFL didn’t officially begin to recognize until 1982, times for quarterbacks have been an official NFL stat since 1963.

Brady was sacked 21 times in 16 games last year, while Roethlisberger was sacked 13 times in 15 games. If Brady and Roethlisberger play all 17 games in 2021, they are both close to lockdown to overtake Favre on the all-time sack list.
