There is no crying in baseball. There is also no crying in football. At least not before winning a Super Bowl.

Appearing on the Podcast all covered With Bryant McFadden and Patrick Peterson, Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David told a story from the locker room in Tampa Bay after the NFC championship win over the Packers.

“When I realized it was real, when I realized it was like everything else didn’t really matter unless it was the Super Bowl after winning the NFC Championship,” David said. “You know me, I was all happy and shit, it was my first. I am a geek. Then like I guess someone was crying. And i guess i heard [Brady], just like, ‘Why are you crying? We haven’t finished yet. ”

The comment caught David’s attention.

“He’s right,” David said. “He’s right. You know, I had two little tears too. So I wiped my shit off too… We still have some work to do.

It’s a tangible example of the intangible value of having Brady in the locker room. It is leadership. It’s the responsibility. It’s about making sure that no one is content with anything other than reaching the top of the mountain.

This is one of the reasons it will be very difficult to choose against the Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV, no matter how good the Chiefs are right now. And they are.
