He also met Tom Brady in midfield. The legendary contestants exchanged pleasantries after the game. Brady has spoken about Brees’ likely retirement at the end of his season.

“I’m going to let him think about it but I think about him so much as a player, nobody at all. I know him pretty well and he’s an amazing player and competitor,” Brady told FOX’s Erin Andrews NFL.

Sean Payton was asked about Brees’ future and Payton replied that he thought the question was for “another press conference.”

Ahead of the team’s NFC Division Round playoff game against the Buccaneers, FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer announced that Brees will be retiring at the end of the Saints playoff series.

“Drew Brees – tonight will be his last game at the Superdome,” Glazer said on the FOX pre-game show. “And every time his last game is – if they lose tonight, if they lose next week – it will be the last game he plays in the NFL.”

Glazer was asked if he just believed Brees was retiring or if it was an actual report. He responded by saying, “No, that’s it. Drew Brees will be finished.”
